The Secret Place
Did you know that there is a secret place available to the person who is willing to put
their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? Psalm 91 speaks of that
"secret place." This is one of the most familiar passages of Scripture that assures the
believer who puts his faith in God a life of peace and protection from the evil things of
this world. As a child of God, you do not have to live in or put up with the same bondage
that unbelievers deal with. God has provided a way out. The devil and demons have no
legal authority over the Christian.

God never intended for it to be hidden from us, but rather it is a secret to our enemies; a
place in which our enemies cannot enter in to attack us. This is a special advantage that
an unbeliever does not have. Spiritually speaking, an unbeliever is totally exposed to the
attacks of the enemy. They have no hiding place or refuge in times of trouble.

We also see in Psalm 91 a reference to God as "Almighty" and "Most High." This reveals
to us that God is bigger than any problem, situation, or trial in our life. We must come to
the point in our life that we realize that in our own strength and wisdom we can do
nothing. Every blessing and victory in our life has been a direct result of God stepping in
and putting us over the top. I will go as far to say that everything that we try to
accomplish apart from God and His Word will ultimately fail.

There have been times when I am dealing with a problem in my life; I look back at past
experiences where God has intervened and how He has pulled me through to victory.
When I do that, I know that God is faithful and He will never leave me nor forsake me. It
builds my faith for the present situation. There will be times in your life when victory
seems hopeless in the natural. As you choose to trust in the Lord with all of your heart;
leaning not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6), and you believe God's promise
that all things work together for the good to those that love God and those who are the
called according to His purpose, victory will come to pass (Romans 8:28)!

The Word of God declares that the Name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous
run into it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). With that promise in mind, believe God's Word
and run as fast as you can into the secret place that is available to you in Christ!
